Sierra Leone Wetlands

SIERRA LEONE WETLANDS PROTECT US ALL
Sierra Leone River Estuary designated as Wetlands of International Importance with a surface area of 295,000 hectares.

Wetlands - from small swamp rice and mangroves to big places like River Estuary help protect our communities from the devastating effects of flooding, drought and storm surges. If we protect the things that protect us we can fight climate change.

As well as the River Estuary Sierra Leone has three other sites of potential International Importance - the Great Scarcies River Basin, the Yawri Bay and the Sherbro River Estuary - why don't we protect areas like these so they can keep on protecting us?
