SECOND NATIONAL CLEANING DAY A SUCCESS!
Sierra Leone's second monthly National Cleaning Day saw more clean streets and communities reclaimed by citizens from the litter and plastic pollution that has long-plagued our capital and environs.
Everyone but everyone played their part in this months' big Saturday Clean Up including President Bio, not afraid to pick up a shovel and get his hands dirty, joining fellow citizens helping clean up our streets in Lumley, Congo Cross, Saint John Sander and Siaka Steven Streets, finishing up at East End Police.
With clean gutters and drains, water will flow freely through Freetown during rainy season, preventing avoidable flooding. Many health problems citizens suffer will also reduce – dirty providing a perfect breeding ground for verminous rats, mice and cockroaches, no longer rampantly spreading disease.
And with such clean streets the first and lasting impression visitors receive of our beautiful nation will boost our determined claim to be a destination of choice for tourists and eco-tourism.
