PLANTING TREES TO BOOST NUTRITION

Week two of our schools programme planting fruit trees in Western Rural district and our first stop is to the esteemed Kellys Agricultural Rural Secondary School.

The pupils soon set to planting some avocado and mango saplings, giving a real nutritional boost for generations of school children to come.

Then the team move on to Joy Secondary where eager pupils and teachers plant more avocado and mango for their school.

The innovative school's programme which sees pupils learn all about arboriculture and the impact of trees on climate change was jointly developed by School Green Club in partnership with Society for Climate Change Communications and funded the UK's Sierra Leone Poverty Alleviation Charitable Trust.

Last stop for the team is John Toma Secondary and a new entrant to our shool's programme nutruing the next generation of sustainability champions.
