.

The journey to the burial site was a sad sight to witness as lorry after lorry, each bearing the coffins of one hundred of the dead from Monday's national tragedy, passed streets lined with citizens,

An emotional ceremony attended by the the President and First Lady for the first three hundred victims of the mudslide and floods that have claimed so many.

For us it was especially poignant having been privileged yesterday to witness these self-same graves too numerous being dug.

We hope on this day of national mourning the Government will heed calls for direct on-going support for survivors of this national tragedy and to make the Regent site a permanent memorial park to the many souls resting beneath.
