SIERRA LEONE WIN $3K FOR TOP AGRICULTURAL & ENVIROMENTAL SOLUTION!


Calling all interested developers and data technology enthusiasts – register between Monday and Tuesday, Sept 17-18 to co-create and build user-friendly and innovative solutions addressing key data and service challenges in Agriculture and Environment sectors. A massive $3,000 will be awarded to the top three solutions for agriculture and environment!

Register on the day: Monday-Tuesday Sept 17-18.

Close 12 noon Sept 18.

Venue: The knowledge House, 3 Nelson lane , Tengbeh Town, Freetown.

Please bring a recent passport picture along for registration!

Winners will be announced on Fri. Sept 21 at the Radisson Blue Mammy Yoko Hotel after technical assessment of the various prototype solutions.

Developer must be 17 years and above and a legal resident of Sierra Leone. Prize is only limited to the purpose of the hackathon being held on September 19-20, 2018 in the amount published to be awarded for the winners. Full details of the Terms and Conditions will be handed to you on Tuesday, Sept. 18. Entry in the Contest does not constitute entry into any other promotion, sweepstakes, or contest. The distribution of the prize(s) will be at the sole determination of the Sponsor to the individual(s) deemed the winner(s) of the Contest by the Sponsor in accordance with the Official Rules contained in the Terms and Conditions document.

Today, saw the final stakeholders planning meeting for tomorrow’s Sierra Leone Diaspora Agribusiness Investment Forum and the upcoming Agriculture and Environment Open Data Hackathon finalizing key issues, data challenges and likely solutions, enabling stakeholders to highlight and discuss key data and service challenges, exchange ideas and develop solutions.

The Agriculture and Environment Open Data Hackathon is being delivered by a multi-agency task force led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Sierra Leone Environmental Protection Agency, Statistics Sierra Leone and the Right to Access Information Commission supported by the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD), and Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN).
